Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe has warned that the current crisis at Eskom may cause social unrest in the country.

. It says this is due to unusually high demand and the breakdown of a generating unit each at Hendrina, Kendal and Kriel power stations.Mantashe was speaking at the Matla Coal Multi-purpose Hall outside Kriel in Mpumalanga.

Carbon emissions contribute to climate change but some residents are concerned that the energy transition could lead to job losses. Dr David Khoza says carbon capturing will enable the country to continue using coal for electricity generation.

South Africans are very positive people, talks is different but action for them is very reasonable unless one instigate them, Sir

Unrest? You ass is unrest as we going to send all of myanc to jail soon ancmustfall anccorrupttothecore ancgang

Wow

Its all 2030 Agenda Propaganda this , the crisis is man made and its a global government thing.

Where are the invoices for the stolen money

He is the cause of it him and l his counter parts they all stole SA dry they are the reason of all this Eskom business all corrupt

No shit !

Voetsek, GwedeMantashe1.

Allow private enterprise to help with the power crisis. Profitable organizations are sustainable. It also gives the opportunity for previously disenfranchised population groups to create wealth and many steady jobs. eskommustfall endthepowermonopoly SAbusinessmustrise

Russia wanted to build us a nuclear power station, that would supply the whole country with electricity for 10 years loan. 😢

NOW you wake up? NOW you fkn wake up Voetsek!

you got that right , and the fact that when all the rich is off the grid the rest will be charged exorbitant prices to keep eskom viable

Who is to blame for the Unrest?

Well they maid this now live it this

One it wont be social unrest it will be action never think we don't get tired

So irresponsible. Please pray for Gwede

At least he is noticing the frustration of the people that have a potential unrest. I wonder if Pravin Gordan is noticing that.

gwedemantashe GwedeMantasheSG UNREST…Isn’t dat wat we got now.? Unrest at gvnmnt NOT sending thieves to jail. Unrest at sabatagers cort in Eskom damaging stuff, no jail. white managers offered to go back in to correct & get electric flowin again…FREE…Y WAZ DEY IGNORED.

lol.... as if it was just a new thing 👊🤡

Why

Hopefully, they go knocking on YALL'S doors! The time has come for accountability! Fat uneducated expired politicians need to feel what the rest of SouthAfricans feel! This insanity needs to end even if there has to be a civil war, bring it! Need to downsize the majority...

this could be part of the anc plan to distract voters from partys corruption

He speak like somebody in the toilet

Talk is cheap, is he doing something towards resolving this or he's just complaining like the rest of us

Eskom IS the ANC government - which IS the crisis!! Time to go!

Lol this is actually what they want us to do , Because they know during that people they loot/destroy and then after that the ANC will make tenders to clean streets 🤷

'May' is MyANC buzzword! It's up to you how you interpret it, when in doubts, you MAY take Gwede for review ...

The minister is actually instigating unrest, which equates to treason.

True, the ANC will realise this once out of power in 2024

For the first for you to speak the world class truth like Malema tell your friends in the ANC to stop playing games with Eskom and stop this nonsense of load shedding immediately

I think him , Pravin as well and Eskom board CEO must resign from his duty

Who is he warning 🤷‍♂️

Inevitable.. sooner or later

GeneralElectionsNow

No the MYANC is going to do that for us in 🇿🇦

He is an instigator. When you say it will cause unrest, you could be giving other people secret codes for the to start. And later come tell us ' I have told you so', actually you encouraged it.

The foundation for this lies in your government setting the stage.

People are pulling up to the Witpoortjie tennis courts on Jan van Rooyen at 12,bring your neighbors and let's stand together. We need and end to this. They sabotaging us

GwedeMantashe1 is stirring something.. but more importantly he is being irresponsible with these statements. He did absolutely nothing when zuma planted the corrupt seeds for the crisis we are facing today

Coward must just tell the country to ToiToi to make his job easier!

Why lament, they are the government given a responsibility to transform society, instead bickering over factional and personal issues.

Remove the 'may' and put 'will'
