Telstra chief financial officer Michael Ackland says the names, addresses and phone numbers of 146,000 customers were accidentally made publicly available on White Pages and directory assistance.

He says it had removed the information from White Pages and was reloading the directory assistance databaseTelstra chief financial officer Michael Ackland told ABC Radio Melbourne some customers' names, addresses and phone numbers were accidentally made available on White Pages and directory assistance.

"We've now gone and removed all of that data that was published where a customer legitimately requested us not to publish it."
