Sky News Political Reporter Joel Philp says support from the Greens is needed to pass energy legislation, as the Coalition wants compensation for coal companies if operating costs are above price caps.

“Any companies which have an operating cost which is above that cap, those companies could be compensated in negotiations,” Mr Philp said.
