NEW: Elon Musk is asking consumers on his platform if he should step down as head of Twitter in his latest poll.

Twitter will ban links to other social media services and suspend accounts that try to direct Twitter users to alternative platforms. The CEO of the social media platform posted a poll Sunday, saying, "I will abide by the results of this poll.""VOTE YES" quickly began trending on the platform in response.

Twitter's move signals a shift toward a more closed environment, one that still accepts incoming traffic from other sites but makes it more difficult for users to leave Twitter's website for other destinations,"Specifically, we will remove accounts created solely for the purpose of promoting other social platforms and content that contains links or usernames for the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post," Twitter's support...

The policy change comes after some Twitter users announced their intention to move to other platforms last week, in the wake ofwho cover Musk. Amid the backlash to the journalists suspensions, Twitter quietly began blocking links to Mastodon. For example, posting encouragement to "follow me @username on Instagram" or "username@mastodon.social" is restricted, Twitter said in a blog post.

He sure doesn't know how to think for himself if he has to ALWAYS take a poll from others in order to decide what he should or shouldn't do. Here's an idea, how about he conducts a poll asking if we all would like him to SHUT UP and STOP acting like a spoiled rich A-hole!

elonmusk lives rent-free in the minds of the mainstream media. That's worth more than any other type of advertising... and it's hysterical.

Why did he need a poll? He preached free speech and became Twitler instead. If his goal is success then he should, he's too emotional to run a social media platform.

NO way hoseA!!!

How is this news? Did anyone not read a week or 2 ago him actually saying he was looking for a replacement? Did Noone else see it 👀?
