Paré then had a successful catering career for nearly 20 years before launching Company’s Coming Publishing in 1980 with her son, Grant Lovig. Paré was made a member of the Order of Canada in 2004. She was also a collector of cookbooks, and donated 6,700 of them to the University of Guelph library's culinary collections.
Jean was an absolute titan. Built one of the biggest cookbook series in the world from nothing but her own love and hardwork. It's hard to imagine Canada will ever produce a more influential chef.
An absolute angel! We had a fire and lost all our Company’s Coming cookbooks and wrote to find where we could find them to buy all them again. She sent us the entire library free! Truly a saint. RIP

I have several of her books....what a shame. She decidedly has a place in Canadian culinary history and publishing for that matter.
