Stolen car insurance: Two Wisconsin families said their insurance companies are dropping them after their Kias were stolen multiple times.

"100% don't buy a Kia," Michael responded. "It's not worth the headache, whether you're buying, leasing, renting, loaning, borrowing. It's not worth it."

"We were really nave when the first car was stolen," Kerry said. "We were so incredibly shocked at the lack of what the police could do. They couldn't do anything."WISN 12 News reached out to both Progressive and West Bend Insurance companies but did not get an immediate response. The Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance Insurers sent the following statement in response to our request:

"Insurers use a variety of factors in determining rates. Those factors and underwriting practices must correlate to the risk and may not be unfairly discriminatory. If a consumer has questions or a complaint about their auto policy, or concerns about dropped coverage or a denied claim, we encourage them to contact our office by visiting oci.wi.gov or calling 266-3585."

How can someone steal your car insurance? 🤣

Insurance companies are legal criminals. You pay over inflated premiums, but the minute you have a claim damages to property or person, your rates go up plus deductibles. And you are in the system so no other company will insure you at a decent price.

How can you steal someone's car insurance?

Get over it! Find another insurer or consider trading in the cars. Not rocket science.

Thats what u get for driving a kia.

This is a news story?

Illegal to not have insurance but legal to get dropped. Something is wrong here.

It's a sad situation and times we live in but unfortunately blaming the manufacturer of the car is completely irrelevant and legal actions won't. Sorry to see people go through this but some accountability should be taken towards state attorneys, police, etc.
