Despite mass layoffs in the tech industry, many Silicon Valley giants dominate a new list of the best places to work in America, even if a few big names dropped off.

Some 41 out of the top 100 large companies on career site Glassdoor’s list of “best places to work” were tech companies, up slightly from 40 in 2022. The next most represented industries were consulting and finance, which each had 7 companies on the list, followed by real estate, with 5 companies. The ranking was based on employees’ overall feedback during the past year. Workers volunteer feedback and rate their employers out of 5 on a variety of subjects, including how satisfied they are with their employer overall, their CEO, and other issues such as career opportunities, compensation and benefits, culture and values, diversity and inclusion, senior management and work-life balance. The average rating of companies on Glassdoor is 3.7.

“The past year brought extreme highs and lows for job seekers and employees, but despite an increasingly uncertain job market, Glassdoor data shows there are still companies hyper-focused on creating outstanding employee experiences,” Christian Sutherland-Wong, the company’s chief executive officer, said in a statement.
