The only quick way to reduce load shedding is to burn more diesel. But government and Eskom can't agree on who should pay.

As chronic load shedding continues indefinitely, a behind-the-scenes dispute has broken out between National Treasury and Eskom over where the money should come from to buy more diesel.

The only immediate way to reduce load shedding is for Eskom to burn diesel to power its open-cycle gas turbines. All other possible solutions to reduce load shedding have a longer lead time of at least 18 months to two years. In meetings with political parties, organised labour and business on Monday, chaired by President Cyril Ramaphosa, the key message from the Eskom board and management was that load shedding is here to stay for the next two years. Bull

Same bulls..t, different day!!!

Ultimately only one pays, the South African tax citizens.

All S.A. coal is being shipped to Europe DeutscheWelle derspiegel V_of_Europe FRANCE24 RebelNewsOnline EvaVlaar

If SWETO pays their overdue account, the problem will be solved

Doesn't matter which of these 2 pays. At the end of the day it will be the tax payer that foot the bill.

And then the diesel generators goes into overload, being used past the point it was designed for - more breakages, more repairs, and then 1 day it all comes down the tube - the whole country will have to cold restart the system, 10 days later - civil war

Or just burn coal

A great many people pay their bills. Other than fat salaries to a bloated workforce, where is all the money going? 💰

But expect small business owners to just suck up the cost of a generator and the diesel price.

What about using the money we pay for the bloody service! Its a no brainer Fools!

So ESKOM is pushing diesel prices up?

The consumers are paying.

How about subsidising solar installations? We are all happy to help, why penalise the public more. Let’s work together.

eskomsalaryshedding over 40 000 employees and nobody can fix the problem, and now they got more money, let's start salary shedding at Eskom and see how quickly they fix the problem Eskomsalaryshedding instead of punishing the people who pay their bills.

To burn diesel was for only back up capacity of electricity in days of Brain Molefe now it’s a normal thing while it chows lot of millions daily burning diesel

So it's fine to burn diesel and not coal?

The goal posts keep changing... Eskom in their communications talk of 'unforeseen breakdown...' - that's why we have stage 6. But now ur saying the power stations are okay, flopo ke diesel? Anyway I don't expect a decision - The President's hands are tied.

In other words, buy diesel and make some people very rich rather than use the money to revive the plants with proper maintenance? So AdR gave up on maintenance in favour of burning diesel and untested solar potential?

🚨

The ANC looted the country dry😈😈😈so no money

... and send mzansi coal to Europe n keep their lights on

Pay in Commodities or Land 🤷🏾‍♂️

They should pay they got us in this mess in the first place So Pay up so this Loadshedding Bullshit can stop simple as that 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨

Koko was and would have burnt diesel to show he was in control with reduced load shedding but in the interim we were also burning through cash and becoming bankrupt.

When covid was crisis , there was no issue with money. Now we have electricity crisis, treasury cannot fund such. There is deliberate to loadshedding us forever here.

The Anc should pay. Simple.

Obvious we will pay. Such nonsense.

Until the diesel generators break also. Anyway diesel should pay for diesel
