Timoney shares her advice on steps employers can take to foster more inclusion."As an industry, we must be clear on the criteria required for assignments and advancement. The more transparent that those decisions can be made, the less negative impact we are likely to see on feelings of fairness and recognition.

It's also about listening to your people. That advice sounds simple enough, but too often leaders think of listening as a passive or nice-to-have activity versus adopting listening as a mindset. Timoney agrees."The first step any organization can take towards encouraging inclusion is to create channels to receive feedback from the people who make your business run.
