West Yorkshire Police said they were called out to a fight at the outdoor section of Kirkgate Market off George Street around 8.30pm yesterday. Three men were injured in the fight, which involved females and males.
Two 19-year-old men have been arrested and remain in custody. Police put a cordon in place overnight while enquiries were carried out at the scene. The area it covers extends towards the Calls, Briggate, the A653 and Regent Street. Patrols will be increased in the area to deter any further incidents and have the powers to search people or vehicles for weapons without the usual grounds needed.
