YOUR SAY: Should workers be able to work Australia Day and take a different day off instead? Supermarket giant Woolworths is one of a number of major Aussie companies offering staff the option to work January 26 and pick a separate day off. 9News MORE:

Telstra, Deloitte and finance firm PwC are also reported to have initiated similar schemes, providing an opportunity for anyone who doesn't recognise January 26 to pick a separate day of their own choosing.

"We think it's up to each team member to mark the day as it suits them and our priority is creating a safe and supportive environment in our stores and sites."

DamoNews

DamoNews when I was on 7 day rotating roster, + until I was a princ engr, if I worked ANY PUBLIC HOLIDAY I was paid 2.5x penalty rate for the full shift , and if called in a full shift even if I only worked a shift + I had an extra day added to my annual leave.

DamoNews Proud to celebrate the arrival of the first fleet.

DamoNews Can anyone in msm ever promote Australia Day and inclusiveness.. this country has really gone to the dogs

I see that the New World Order told you to downplay Australia Day.

DamoNews I’m betting these are the same people who point their fingers at their neighbours, kids’ school teachers, and some foreign countries.

DamoNews WTF with those people who don’t even consider also taking the fracking Friday off…

DamoNews We should create an alternative holiday for the Wowsers. 'I Hate Australia and Everything About It Because I am Sooo Very Woke Day.'

DamoNews Imagine working because your such a cuck. 🤡 🌍

DamoNews Maybe because the number of actual Australians is less than migrant Australians so this country's origin no longer matters to the majority unfortunately, if you wanted to migrate here then it was obviously better than where u were from so why change it.

DamoNews Why does channel 9 keep putting Australia down? Nobody I know hates Australia Day...

Oh don't be ridiculous! Australia Day is 26 January always and forever. Get over it!

Why not?

It's between the businesses and their employees if they want to work or not who cares

No, it’s unAustralian to not celebrate Australia Day

Only if they cover for the 0.5 that should be added on as most get 2.5 not 2.0

Very wrong

This is blatant misrepresentation January 26 was made a public holiday in 1994.

Again, it's no one else's business, it between employers and individuals.

I don’t see the problem with this. If you have nothing on and wish to work you may prefer to get a day off for a long weekend. I worked for many years and had the choice of a day in lieu for working the public holiday.

Companies following ‘woke agenda’ by allowing employees to work on Australia DayLiberal Senator Hollie Hughes says companies are following the left-wing “woke agenda” by allowing employees to swap their shifts and work on Australia Day. Woolworths announced on Wednesday that their employees can work on Australia Day if they feel uncomfortable taking the day off. “We are seeing companies go woke, go broke, it does not work in the long run,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray. “Most Australians support Australia Day.” NOT A WORD about the troubles facing Trump in the US, just Biden Biden Biden.. Trump businesses have been found guilty of so many offences over the weeks, yet NOTHING MENTIONED on SKY NEWS? See this channel! Name and shame Oh poor Hollie. Shows that the LNP are being left behind.
