Pieces from the personal collections of two Pro Football Hall of Famers will be among the hundreds of memorabilia items on the block this year at the 15th annual Super Bowl Live Auction event, and they’ll be on display in Phoenix during the week before the big game.
Up for bidding will be items belonging to former Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton, who was a member of the iconic 1985 championship team, and from Gino Marchetti, who played for the Baltimore Colts in the 1950s and ’60s, winning NFL titles in 1958 and 1959. Highlights from Payton’s collection include three all-time rushing mark commemorative footballs, with an estimated value between $7,500 and $15,000 each; his 1985 Offensive Player of the Year award ; his 1977 Pro Bowl award ; his Chicago Bears Throwback jersey ; his 1985 NFL Player of the Year trophy ; and a collection of his Bears game footballs .
From Marchetti’s collection will be his Baltimore Colts professional model jersey from around the 1950s, valued at an estimated $15,000 to $25,000); his Super Bowl V ring ; his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ring ; and his NFL Championship Rolex wristwatch .
