RTE presenter Emer O'Neill walked out of Tommy's gig earlier this month

Taxi company FreeNow have pulled out of a sponsorship deal with RTE following the Tommy Tiernan controversy, the Irish Independent reports.

“Free Now works in close partnership with taxi drivers throughout the country to provide an important transport service for passengers across Ireland. Emer revealed earlier this week that Tommy had reached out an apologised and said he had taken the joke out of his set.The email read: "Dear Emer, I’m so sorry about the hurt that a joke I told at Vicar Street on Friday night has caused you. It was never my intention for this to happen and I take full responsibility for it. It was dropped immediately from the set.
