All of Houston's Natural Pawz and Kriser's pet stores are set to close by the end of the month after parent company Independent Pet Partners filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Sunday.

IPP said in court filings that it remains open to another company acquiring its stores slated to close but that it has yet to receive any"executable" offers.

All closing stores are holding sales in which purchases are final. Natural Pawz and Kriser's will accept returns for purchases made before the sale and also will honor gift cards. , Independent Pet Partners didn't comment on what would happen to employees at its 93 closing stores, saying"employment decisions will continue to be made based on what makes the best sense for our business just as they always have."
