Chicago street vendors said they simply want to continue working and providing for their families, without fear of fines from the city.

Across many parts of Chicago, street vendors are an integral part of the community. But those vendors saying the city's licensing requirements are making it hard to stay in business.The community was called to act and it worked, Little Village street vendors said about the response to help them feel more safe.

"This has been community groups, violence intervention groups that have worked closely with our office and the street vendors to establish safe zones," 25th Ward Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez said. "It's an issue throughout Chicago," Armendariz said, "that is going to affect hard-working, low-income families that are already struggling to make ends meet."

Yea they don’t want to pay taxes. Like hello we all work and pay taxes. Cause if that’s the case I can sell ice cream and make a big profit for my family too. Get a license and report your income and pay your taxes.
