THE Foundation and The O Foundation, two of three NIL collectives supporting Ohio State football and men's basketball, announced a merger on Thursday.

when it was founded by Columbus real estate executive Brian Schottenstein and former national championship-winning quarterback Cardale Jones.

Scottenstein said last month that the non-profit has partnered with more than 40 of the Buckeyes’ football and men’s basketball players, who are paid to promote partner charitable organizations. Ron Stokes, the longtime radio analyst for OSU men’s basketball and an area businessman, later launched The O Foundationwith entrepreneur Bill Lewis and attorney Chris O’Shaughnessy to support the hoops program.

Both were mentioned in December by athletic director Gene Smith, who issued a statement of support for three collectives, asking for fans to donate money to the organizations in order to help fund NIL opportunities.
