With the Super Bowl the same week as the WM Phoenix Open, the golf tournament was able to lure some of its biggest celebrity names ever for its Pro-Am event.

While the WM Phoenix Open has always been able to get some big names for the celebrity event, the tournament is always the same week as the Super Bowl and many current and former professional athletes who would be interested in playing are already in the city that hosts the NFL championship. Williams said the Pro Am field this year was as strong has it has ever been, similar to the player field for the WMPO.

Women’s soccer star Cari Lloyd, Olympian Michael Phelps and country music artists Chris Lane and Jason Aldean also played in the event.Someone who’s no stranger to this event is Michael Phelps, the most accomplished Olympic swimmer of all time. The Arizona native is a huge golf fan and couldn’t contain his excitement about his Wednesday foursome.
