Rachel Pineault receives recognition from Women in Mining Canada

Pineault is currently a board member with the Goodman School of Mines at Laurentian University in Sudbury.

“Without visibility and awards highlighting the contributions women are making to this industry, females will remain under-represented. The sector will lag in its ability to reach its potential,” according to WIM. The Rick Hutson Mentorship Award goes to a mentor or coach who has supported, encouraged, guided, and advised women along their journey in the Canadian mining industry, either in school or in their careers.

Previously, she has served as the vice-president of human resources at Battle North Gold, the director of human resources at Kirkland Lake Gold’s Canadian operations, vice-president of human resources and Aboriginal affairs at Detour Gold, and head of human resources and Aboriginal affairs for De Beers Canada’s Victor Mine.
