Goldman Sachs company seeks not to make €4m contributions for play facilities and open space in Blanchardstown via IrishTimesBiz

Listen |Barry Connolly, the man who brought Red Bull and Kopparberg cider to Ireland has just been named the Irish Times Business Person of the Year. After graduating from UCD with a degree in business, the Dubliner went on to work in advertising and sales at the Sunday Tribune, before moving into the world of entrepreneurship, where he worked alongside a number of successful brands. In 2016, he launched Fulfil, a range of protein bars which took the Irish market by storm.

In one condition, the council is requiring a payment of €1.7 million in a special contribution towards playground facilities while the council also requires a separate €2.32 million payout in lieu of open space towards the cost of amenity works in the area of the proposed development. He contended that the inclusion of the €1.7 million contribution is “inappropriate as the design and quantum of the play areas in the development fully accords with Apartment Guidelines”.
