A new campaign and website by the FCAA aims to educate the public about the risks of investment fraud.

“The problem is identifying who actually holds that wallet. To put a name and a face to a transaction, that’s a lot more difficult,” White said.“Really, once the money’s gone, it’s gone.”

“It’s really the advancement of technologies, that the internet’s bringing, that these people that want to commit these types of crimes have latched on to and that’s what’s really enabling them,” White said. Olikriet Capital Limited, which operates online, claims to offer residents an opportunity to invest and trade equities, forex, metals, commodities, contracts for differences, shares, cryptocurrencies, ETFs, options, and indices through the online website oliks.com, notes a news release.

“Saskatchewan residents must be wary of platforms that offer investment opportunities without being registered,” states an FCAA release. “If a platform is not registered, that means the financial regulators have not vetted its legitimacy.” CryptoFXPro is not registered to trade or sell securities or derivatives in Saskatchewan.

The FCAA issued a warning for Investment Center and Investment Center Holdings Int’l and their website www.investmentcenter.finance.
