During the trial, the court heard that the hitmen conspired to kill hostel residents, who threatened their control of the hostel between 2014 and 2016. National Prosecuting Authority Spokesperson in KwaZulu-Natal, Natasha Ramkissoon-Kara says, “The sentencing proceedings in the Glebelands Hostel matter are said to resume in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.”

“In October, last year the eight men were convicted of various charges including murder attempted murder, unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.”
