Dallas-based Highlander Partners has acquired Idaho-based Black Sage Technologies, a leading provider of counter-unmanned aerial systems and technologies, according to a news release. The Dallas-based firm picked up Black Sage from Oklahoma City-based private equity firm Acorn Growth Companies.Black Sage is a leader in the C-UAS market, providing solutions to defend against unmanned aerial system threats in both military and commercial environments.
Acorn's investment in Black Sage allowed the company to expand its presence within the U.S. defense sector through strategic capital investments and the establishment of key industry relationships."We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to support the growth and success of Black Sage Technologies," Acorn partner and COO said in a prepared statement.
Acorn led key management and operational improvements for Black Sage that were designed to help the company’s capacity to innovate, expand its product line and increase its production capabilities. Acorn also invested in critical business systems designed to help the company achieve and maintain the level of cost and process visibility and give it the discipline necessary in the highly competitive defense sector.
