It's the end of an era for Lincoln Christmas Market

Any aspiring musician has two wishes: to be successful while also remaining true to yourself. In the case of Lincoln’s Evie Balfe, she is trying to buck trends and be the latest local singer to become a star.

She said: “Mrs Yarsley was my drama teacher, and she pushed me to audition for drama school and be as creative as possible. Without her I wouldn’t have moved to London to pursue my dreams.” Evie is inspired mainly by strong female vocalists in the dream-pop scene, whether it be London Grammar or fellow Lincolnshire musician Holly Humberstone.

It would soon become her lead single for the album after realising just how well it fits into the narrative of the project, and it is one of Evie’s favourite songs on the record now. Being a modern artist requires you to be in tune with modern technology and social media trends, with TikTok continuing to dominate chart entries across the world.

What was wrong with making it a ticket only event and maybe add an extra day 🤷‍♂️

Time to vote the council out

I detested the Christmas Market. However, I feel I am in a minority and such a decision should have been put to a local referendum that could have been incorporated into the local elections in May! How a couple of dozen councillors have decided this for themselves is worrying!

Mayor’s parade, Brayford Festival and now the Christmas market.. All gone! What next? Steampunk weekend? Lincoln Pride? I remember when Lincoln used to be a fun city…

When can we vote metcalfe out?

Usually any form of bureaucracy jumps on the covid band wagon but for once they never mention to take into account that there hadn't been a market for 2 years because of it, that's why it was so busy. A typical council who don't actually care about 'their' public just their jobs

Residents should make the upcoming local elections a referendum on the councils decision. Vote out the lot of them.

It’s all about the money. Now we get a lot of small events, like the Thor Tipi claiming to have anything to do with Christmas. It’s going to be interesting to see how this will attract visitors from all over the UK and abroad.

Just sell tickets 🤦🏻‍♂️

Off to York we go bollocks to their small events nobody will go they’ve just lost the local shops bars restaurants taxis and stallholders loads and loads of money for what…a few complaints ffs get these council divs out
