Image: ReutersThe Acting Group Executive for Generation at Eskom, Thomas Conradi, saysEskom’s executives gave an update yesterday on the state of the grid, saying they hope to de-escalate Stage 6 rolling blackouts from tomorrow night.“At Lethabo, we’ve had a situation that we unfortunately had units being forced to shut down and not being able to return. Two of those as a result of coal constraints.

Eskom uses diesel to power turbines that are used as a back-up to its coal fired power stations – most of which are aging and require constant maintenance.

Damn and this is coming from an executive

Incredible that since being established in 1923 competent engineers never had to deal with this issue until the cadres there by myanc took charge. Now we have to deal with these kak excuses.

It's been raining since my birthday in the 60's and these power stations held their own. Since the ANC took over, suddenly we have power stations that need umbrellas

That's a lame excuse
