South African Airways has received a R1 billion allocation from National Budget 2023 and future financial injections have not been ruled out. | News24_Business

SAA's outstanding legacy debt includes the third and final payment of a receivership created when SAA exited business rescue in April 2021.

It is unclear whether the R1 billion is enough to settle all of SAA's historic debt and bring the partnership deal with the Takatso Consortium one step closer. SAA was in financial trouble even before the pandemic hit. It went into business rescue at the start of December 2019 when government did not provide yet another bailout. SAA stopped flying in May 2020 due to the devastating impact of the Covid-19 lockdown and only resumed commercial flights in September 2021 - on a much smaller scale than before it went into business rescue.

Once the receivership payments have been completed, the implementation of SAA's business rescue plan can be finalised. An overview of the challenges and opportunities of the climate crisis, as it changes the world we know.SAA is also awaiting Competition Commission and other regulatory approvals to green-light the Takatso deal.

_Business This must be some type of joke, so It is like the consortium who bought actually do not have money.

_Business Was SAA not sold for R1?

_Business We are being scammed here

_Business DA, ACTIONSA, IFP.... PLEASE TAKE GHORDAN TO COURT!!! WE ARE SOOOO TIRED OF BEING TAKEN FOR FOOLS AND FLEEDED BY THIS ANC GVT.

_Business WTF?

_Business Please can I run a business which is bailed out with hundreds of billions of rands whether I succeed or not?

_Business I thought we sold it

LoveSwaziland _Business SAA looting trough

_Business Thoughts OUTASA ?

_Business It was supposedly sold more than a year ago, to a 'private consortium' so there would be no more billion-rand bail outs. Lots of extra corruption here with this and Gordan.

_Business Can anyone calculate how many billions have been poured into SAA..to save how many jobs?

_Business

_Business Correction! It’s the MYANC and their cadres that has received the bailout.

_Business Financial injection to SAA means that the corrupt deal between Pravin and Takatso consortium is null and void. Opposition parties, please save us from corrupt Pravin as he does as he wishes in our government.

_Business Only in South Africa where state multimillion rand businesses are given money by poor citizenry in order to operate. Instead of them generating proft which they are supposed to stimulate the economy. We are basically paying businesses to do the work they were intended to be doing

_Business Thought the government sold SAA 🙄

_Business What a waste of tax money by throwing even more money away for a total failure.

_Business Who is the new girlfriend stealing state money..? Asking on behalf of Dudu Myeni Zumpta..?

_Business sellsaa

_Business

_Business Let's see how long this lasts....I guess it will all depend on how many of them are under the table!

_Business The ANC deserves a corruption trophy🤦🤦🧏

_Business So that Teletubbies can fly for free I presume

_Business What’s the total now to date?

_Business MSM is not questioning it as they are part of New Dawn media group. ANC is already in campaign mode.

_Business Should have just sold it to Emirates and take the profits, SAA would have dominated the UAE route

_Business So Gordhan attack De Reyter for what he thinks is meddling in politics. Here Gordhan shows us exactly why SOE's Executives must take on incompetent corrupt ANC politicians.

_Business Here we go again. Give it up ANC. SAA is done it's over. Goodbye

_Business Aaaaaand it’s gone!

_Business Just shut this down

_Business ANC is killing South Africa

_Business Party time

_Business 🤬

_Business Another R1 billion for MYANC to steal...comrade airways is just another source for them to feed their fat obese stomachs 🤮

_Business Fuck sakes! Why not spend this money where it's actually needed? Like... erm... let's think... oh ya! Eskom!

_Business Still feeding a dead horse?

_Business SAA we were told (or should that be lied) was solvent & had their equity partner. Yet more than a year later no money put down by the takatso consortium..surely then the deal collapses. but no govt gives another R1bn to SAA so in effect the consortium who has 50%gets R500m

_Business Gordon is in SAA and Eskom. Is he lining his pockets?

_Business Another Eskom

_Business MYANC 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

_Business Just to keep Gordhan's ego afloat 🤡🙄
