TaTi Bakery, an online Iranian bakery, opened its first physical location inside Tala Food Market in north Phoenix, just in time for Nowruz , which begins on March 20, 2023The project was started by two best friends, Karim Yari and Niousha Toroghi. Yari grew up learning to bake from his mom and brought in the recipes. Toroghi added the business know-how.
Yari is a self taught baker and finds inspiration everywhere."Baking is like meditation to me," he said. Encouraged by friends, Yari decided to explore selling at the farmers market, but was turned down."I was getting ready to leave and go back to the drawing board when one of the owners of Tala called to me," Yari said.
The Farah brothers were planning to focus on prepared foods, such as kabobs and sandwiches at their grocery store. The sweets seemed a perfect addition.What's on the menu at Tala Food Market By moving to Tala market, TaTi bakery gained access to a commercial kitchen, which meant Yari was able to produce in higher volumes and lower prices.
Pastry prices range from 59 cents to $1.85 for individual cookies and from $9.95 to $12.95 per pound.
