The Joffrey Ballet has announced its 2023-24 season at the Lyric Opera House under the artistic direction of Ashley Wheater — the Chicago company’s 68th season.

“Studies in Blue”

: A mixed repertory program. Including, “Yonder Blue” by choreographer Andrew McNicol, music by Peter Gregson, inspired by the book “A Plea for Eros” by Siri Hustvedt; a world premiere by emerging choreographer Stina Quagebeur, music by Jeremy Birchall; and “Hummingbird” by choreographer Liam Scarlett, music by Philip Glass.: Choreography by Alexander Ekman, music by Mikael Karlsson. The Shakespeare story is set during the traditional Scandinavian summer solstice festival.
