A sprawling Terrell Hills home owned by the niece of famed San Antonio businessman and adventurer Tom Slick was re-listed two weeks ago for $3.4 million, according to local property records.

It was previously listed last summer at the same price, although it was subsequently pulled from the market. If Slick's name is familiar it may be because he had key roles in establishing Southwest Research Institute and the forerunner of the Texas Biomedical Research Institute. He was also known for seeking out the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot and the Yeti, and as a collector of modern art.

Slick's niece, Susan Moorman Kerr — who's owned this sprawling, 6,200-square-foot property since 2000 — has also led an interesting life as an author, photographer and public speaker. The five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home she's selling was constructed in 1924. It includes an array of striking details including dramatic wood beams that cross the living and dining rooms, a Spanish tile roof and a covered veranda overlooking a swimming pool.
