A suburban Chicago bakery that was targeted after announcing plans to host a family-friendly drag brunch may now close due to what the bakery’s owner described as “horrific harassment that no business should endure.”

Sac, who identifies as bisexual, said the business would need more than $30,000 to keep its doors open.

The bakery plans to continue to host several event and fundraisers through the end of the month,"with the hopes to keep the doors open, if nothing else reduce some of the debt." “I wish to thank every single one of you who have defended us, protected us, and supported us. I am asking for one more favor, help me send off our staff with a little financial protection," Sac said."The 'tip the bill' campaign will help as all funds will be split among the staff. The goal is to give them each equivalent of one extra paycheck to see them through to their next venture.

They had an idea. People didn't like the idea so people stopped going there. Then the business started to lose money and that's why it is going out of businesses. It's a consequence of their business decisions. It's consequence culture I guess?

They only have themselves to blame. Why the F would a bakery have a drag show?

I know this place. They should NOT be shut down bc of drag shows. They should shut down bc the food is terrible.

What’s with all the drag shows?

Good. They should close.

Go woke, go broke.

I want to go there now and start screaming at them and making a scene. Where is this?

This is their own fault. They took a stand for something they believe in. The public stopped supporting them. They aren't closing due to harassment. They are closing because they don't make enough money anymore.
