2 charts show how Disney+ is outpacing Netflix and HBO Max with ad-supported tier signups as streamers battle for new subscribers

Disney+ rolled out Basic at the same time that it raised the price for its ad-free offering by $3 — to $11 a month — which may have driven more new subscribers to the ad tier.

Across the board, ad tiers are gaining traction with viewers as consumers get more price sensitive. As of February, according to Antenna, 75% of subscribers to NBCUniversal's 2-year-old Peacock were on its ad-supported tier. For HBO Max, it's 20%.
