I seen a making of the car. They use way to much material. The body doesn't need to be as heavy. But, their battery is supposed to be brilliant.
Tesla is light years ahead of all other car manufacturers. His success makes him the enemy of the fossil fuel industry and highlights the outright failure of other car manufacturers to give people what they want and what the environment needs. Never believe the critics.
Tesla is simply and by far the best car I have ever owned. It is the car everyone would want if they had the opportunity to drive it. It has the highest and longest driver satisfaction of any car. It is smart and ZERO emissions. Feels good to be thoughtful about the environment

Obviously, so is every big manufacturer of anything. If a machine can do the work better and for less, (after the upfront cost) then why would you have a person do it. Tesla has been investing in automation since the start, and that’s why “production hell” happened.
It wouldn’t be better cut 3% profit and save jobs?
