Edinburgh University's contract with its supplier Inoapps will rise from £25m to £33.5m.

Problems in the final phase of the project meant thousands of invoices issued to the university were left outstanding and payments to staff and students were delayed.

The £33.5m price tag for the contract is nearly double the £14m that was initially advertised in 2017. Last month, a group of senior academics on the university senate, tabled a motion that stated the university's response to the crisis was "not an adequate foundation" for confidence in the implementation of the P&M system.

The paper said the lack of sufficient planning and oversight "was a tremendous and costly risk" to the university's operations.

So the Edinburgh University finance system which has caused horrors such as the refusal of suppliers to supply due to non payment….. has anyone been fired or held accountable?

That's why it's called a finance system,its financing someone.

£14m - £33.5 is not 'nearly double', it is about 2.4 times. Do these BBC website pieces go through an editor or do they just go out unchecked?

That why it's called a finance system, its financing someone.
