A street in the Gold Coast's central business district has been shut down by police after grenades and firearms were dropped off at an office building.

Police made the emergency declaration after three grenades and three firearms were surrendered to an office building at about 8:20am. They said no threats have been made and recommend that residents within the exclusion zone at Bay Street stay inside their properties.
