Seven out of 10 hiring managers plan to boost their employee benefits package this year to attract and retain talent, new research shows.

Peggy Vosloo cares more about choosing when and where she works than she does about her salary.

Ms Vosloo was more interested in finding a job that allowed her to work from home and squeeze in family commitments such as the morning school run. Plus, she wanted to“It wasn’t my ideal number, but it was close enough,” Ms Vosloo said of the job offer.

At the same time, workers have come to expect a degree of flexibility from their employers after spending most of the early stages of the pandemic working from home. And the tight labour market has only added to the list of expected perks by giving job candidates more bargaining power.
