BRAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Ohio – The Tanglewood National Golf Club near Chagrin Falls is up for sale and the current owner wants it to remain a golf course.In 2012, the Tanglewood Lake Homeowners Association, representing the nearby housing development,to buy the 132 acres where the club is located from Birmingham for $1 million. That way the association could prevent future, unwanted development.
The “storied” golf course has been on the market since January for $2.2 million, Ekovich said, adding that he has received interest. The club is also home to banquet facilities and a grand ballroom that can accommodate about 200 guests. Tanglewood has been a popular place for weddings and other events. There was a $1 million renovation to the course in 2014 to modernize it, with a second renovation in 2019.
The Tanglewood Lake HOA does have some say in the sale of the club with the power to approve the buyer, but Ekovich said that the property could not be unreasonably withheld.
