In Manhattan criminal court, former Pres. Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records. Here's what to know about the rarely discussed white-collar crime.

In other words, a description of the crime is "sort of in the name," Adam Konta, a senior partner at Manhattan-based law firm Konta, GeorgesHowever, the crime of falsifying business records not only requires an incorrect entry on a company form but also an intent to mislead in an effort to reap reward.

The crime of falsifying business records constitutes either a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the circumstances of a given violation, the attorneys said. The standard is akin to the legal treatment of trespassing, Konta added, noting that the mere act of trespassing is a relatively minor crime but the charge becomes far more serious if a trespasser attempts to steal. In the Trump indictment, Bragg didn't specify the underlying law Trump attempted to break when he allegedly falsified business records.

Political persecution. Banana republic nonsense.

ABC falsely reports stories every night at 6:30pm nightly

RFK all the way

Seems important to consider that perhaps the charges only appear flimsy in relative terms to a cultural normalisation of white collar offending that seems overlooked but illegal in most instances & that community acceptance has led to inadequately resourced capacity to prosecute?

Ok Disney

When you have to add in “rarely discussed” 🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡🤡

Same Circus; Same Clowns

Lock him up

Nice touch blurring Trumps text to donate . So much for fair or balanced. ABC is a fraud

It's not just 'rarely discussed' it's also rarely charged-- as in almost never. Would be interesting to see how many times the last 5 Manhattan DA's have brought such charges. A good journalist might take a look at that .

ABC state run media….

Let it go ABC, we’ve moved onto trans terrorists attacking women and shooting up Christian schools now .

DA Bragg withheld exculpatory evidence from the grand jury proceedings and should be disbarred

His own business records are the smoking guns against him. + Stormy Daniel’s and Michael Cohen’s testimony. Open and shut. Byeeee

I hear he’s switched up his legal team since then…

7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.
