Cosgrave: ‘The ethical value of one’s pontifications is proportionate to their expected outcomes’

Paddy Cosgrave, the outspoken Web Summit chief executive, has said there is no conflict between his campaigning for equality in Ireland while doing a deal to host a new event in Qatar, a country with well-documented human rights abuses.

Cosgrave, who has publicly supported a variety of social causes in Ireland including marriage equality, told the Business Post that “the ethical value of one’s pontifications is proportionate to their expected outcomes”.

Well he will be suspired to hear that he will have much more opportunities in Qatar than in Ireland when it comes to business.
