🗣 'As a rookie I would have not come to the paddock with a tank top and flipflops.' ValtteriBottas thinks it has become harder for drivers to show their real personalities in F1's business-first environment ⬇️

"It is tricky getting to Formula 1," the 33-year-old explained."Sometimes it's difficult to see the real personalities on track.

"Over the last 10 years there were some personalities like Daniel Ricciardo who really came up showing his personality. I think it's good to see but it is how it is because it's serious business and there's big companies and big money involved."photoshoot wouldn't have been possible earlier in his career either.

ValtteriBottas i prefer VB now over the VB who drove for Merc. I’ve heard his mental health suffered when he drove for Merc, and it makes me wonder how many other drivers at the top teams do as well. I wish every driver could just chill and be themselves like VB is now.

ValtteriBottas It’s still easier than it was in the early 2000’s. Those guys had to be in team kit all the time. The sport has progressed so much, that little steps back are still way ahead of where we were.

ValtteriBottas It’d be great to see more of the real personality of the F1 drivers, without them simply being walking corporate billboards.

ValtteriBottas Well Lando was a relative Rookie when he walked through the Pitlane dressed like this. I think it depends who the team boss is to be honest.

ValtteriBottas Isn't it also a part of maturing? When I was in mine early twenties, I wanted to fit in but later you feel more confident and you learn you can be yourself

ValtteriBottas f1 used to be so much more, dare i say, fun. not the fault of the current drivers, but the sponsor-heavy 'media trained' mentality needs to change.

Just be yourself. Don’t need to be serious all the time. Well it’s the media that make assumptions, biased reporters that stir up certain sensitive “fans” and there you find yourself judged by a group of people that absolutely not know you. better than his new workshopped 'personality'
