For taxpayers looking to benefit from tax credits for solar PV installations, SARS wants to use third-party information from solar PV installers to determine if you qualify for a rebate. | LameezOmarjee

SARS issued a draft notice for public comment in March on its proposal to list solar PV installers as third parties providing information for tax returns, and these service providers will need to provide information on the installation of new and unused solar panels for"domestic purposes." It seems evident that SARS is strengthening its oversight to improve tax compliance, and it seeks information such as income tax reference numbers.
