KUALA LUMPUR: The passing of XPDC vocalist Syed Ismail Syed Ibrahim or better known as Mael, will leave a deep impact on the local rock music industry, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In a Twitter post paying tribute to the late singer who died on Thursday , the Prime Minister said Mael was one of the big names in Malaysia’s rock music scene.

The news of Mael’s passing was shared by his manager, known as Bro Yazid, through his Facebook post on Thursday. Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil also shared the sad news of Mael's passing in a Facebook post.
