Proposed EU rule would impose fines for trading with illegal Israeli settlements

Large Irish companies face the prospect of being fined if they buy or sell goods or services from illegal Israeli settlements under a proposed EU rule.

These provisions are similar to the private occupied territories bill which was blocked by the Fine Gael-led minority government in 2019 after staunch resistance from the Israeli government.
