Generative AI Won’t Take Off Without 6G. Sponsored by SAP

In barely a nanosecond, the latest fervor around generative AI collided with reality as these advanced tools answered people with fact and fiction, plagiarized content, and disturbing confrontations. The good news is that 6G connectivity is waiting in the wings to help companies make AI models more efficient and responsible while data from machines and connected devices continues to grow. As AI advances, organizations need to explore where 5G stops and 6G should begin.

We won’t be able to make good on the next advanced intelligence promise without 6G to connect all the data.Unlike the network challenges inherent to 5G, the sixth generation of broadband internet and mobile technology will corral massive amounts of global data in real time, reducing data latency problems, while improving security and overall reliability.

“Imagine the possibilities in a world of unlimited immersive experiences,” said John Licata, innovation foresight strategist at. “We’re talking about going beyond initial data inputs from AR and tapping into it in new hyper-personalized and hyper-contextualized 3D experiences generated by AI and used by businesses both ethically and responsibly.”

The 6G network vision is to support responsible AI by drawing from more data that factors in legal, social, environmental, and ethical standards. This will include self-sovereign identity that allows people to securely control their personal information as they move across physical and virtual worlds.
