Greater Manchester's cheapest house is on the market for just £20,000

With house prices continuing to rise across the UK, you may think that finding a cheap home is highly unlikely. But thankfully there are certain boroughs in Greater Manchester where you can still snap up a bargain.

With a guide price of just £20,000, the property is much more affordable than the average house price in the area, which was £186,400 over the last year. But as with most things that come cheap, the house isn't perfect and it will need a bit of TLC before it can become habitable.Found in Lychgate Court, the house is currently in a run-down state and is classed as a doer-upper home.

Listed for sale on Zoopla on May 3, the house last sold back in 1997 for £16,950 - so its guide price today isn't far off. Inside there is a living room and kitchen on the ground floor, with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Outside there is a driveway, a front garden and also a garden at the back.Situated off Near Birches Parade, it sits close to local shopping and is a short drive from the amenities in Oldham town centre.
