The Senate, Wednesday, urged the Federal Government to immortalise the late founder of DAAR Communications Plc, parent company of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM, Dr. Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi.

Members of Nigerian Guild of Editors during a condolence visit to DAAR Communications over the death of its founder, Dr. Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi.The upper legislative chamber, which observed a minute silence in honour of the Ezomo of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom of Edo State, resolved to send a delegation on a condolence visit to the family.The resolutions were sequel to a motion moved by Chairman, Senate Committee on Customs, Tariff and Excise, Senator Francis Alimikhena .

Senators Matthew Urhoghide ; Clifford Ordia ; George Thompson Sekibo ; Enyinnaya Abaribe ; Biodun Olujimi ; Smart Adeyemi and Ovie Omo-Agege took turns to eulogise the departed media entrepreneur. Joining other Nigerians in mourning the late Edo State indigene, Olafeso stated that the deceased was an advocate of good governance, as well as a personality, who would be sorely missed for his track record in the media industry.

In his condolence message, he said: “My heart goes out to the family of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi at this difficult time. Let me also extend my sincere condolences to the entire PDP family and our leader, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for this colossal national loss.
