company's Australian office has today revealed that 8.5 million Australian users are active on the platform every single month.
Among them are 350,000 businesses that use TikTok as a marketing tool to reach new an existing audiences.TikTok Australia pointed to accounts such as Chebbo's Burgers, Chefs & Dogs, and Edgars Mission as examples of thriving business accounts that are benefitting from the large Australian user base.
It was announced in recent months that in the US a staggering 150 million users are on TikTok - that came ahead of a brutal senate committee hearing into TikTok and itsa ban on the TikTok app being used on government-issued devicesWith basically 30 per cent of the Australian population on TikTok, it seems impossible to imagine a ban any stricter than the one in place today for government devices, as no politician would want to risk putting 8.5 million Australians off-side.
TikTok's 8.5 million is still well short of the massive scale of Facebook, which has a user base of between 15 and 20 million, depending on the source.
