Rory McIlroy has continued to voice his “hate” for the Saudi-funded breakaway golf league that is LIV Golf despite aThe golfing world has been in a civil war for the past two years as players from the formerly dominant PGA and DP World Tour moved to the rebel league after being lured by hundreds of millions of dollars in signing fees.

After years as a vocal critic of the LIV players McIlroy believes they should be punished for leaving the PGA despite the tour signing its own deal with the Saudis. All three organisations have also decided to “work cooperatively and in good faith” to allow previously banned LIV players to re-apply for membership with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour at the end of this season.
