After his round on Thursday, I asked McIlroy if the events of the week have him concerned that perhaps he had put his faith in an altruistic version of the PGA Tour that doesn’t exist, and whether perhaps he should have been looking out for himself a little more.
“I knew I was going to get a million-and-one questions, I thought long and hard on how I’m going to answer them,” Fitzpatrick said. “And that’s not really my job.
