Five of the cheapest houses on the market in Greater Manchester right now - with prices from £40k

With house prices continuing to rise amid the cost of living crisis, househunters who are in search for an affordable home may be finding it difficult. According to Rightmove, the average price of a home across Greater Manchester is currently £260,200, which has jumped up in the last month alone.

The cheapest house for sale at the moment is in Little Hulton, with a guide price of £40,000. The two-bed end terraced house is currently in quite a run-down condition so it will need a bit of work before it is a habitable home. Situated in a residential area close to a number of local amenities, the house has two bedrooms, a family bathroom and one reception room and a separate kitchen. Outside there is a garden area to the front and rear.

It will go up for sale via Pearson Ferrier auctions starting on Tuesday July 4 with bidding on their website. In Platt Bridge, which is known to be one of the cheapest parts of the region for buying a home, there is a three-bed terraced property up for grabs at £70,000. It is in a fairly reasonable state and benefits from both a rare garden and an additional loft room.
