A new summertime trolley is traveling Tinley Park roads as part of a village effort to connect residents and visitors with its independently-owned craft breweries and wine bars.

Officials said the Wednesday night Tinley Park Ale Trail Trolley runs do not constitute a bar crawl. Rather, they are a way to promote businesses.“This is an opportunity to showcase the breweries we have in town and have a little fun along the way,” said Donna Framke, the village’s marketing director. “We are very fortunate we have so many breweries in town, some award winning.”

The Ale Trail Trolley made its debut June 7 with about 170 people taking part the first night, Framke said. The count exceeded village expectations, and village officials would have been happy if 100 people joined the trolley on its inaugural run, she said. Dalton said the people were excited when they exited the trolley, and the warm and sunny evening added to the festive atmosphere.
