Software engineers at the software giant who had been in management roles, have been told they will be redeployed to frontline coding jobs, as it looks to strip out inefficiency.

Australian tech giant Atlassian will cut a layer of engineering managers in a major reshuffle of its ranks, aimed at redeploying senior staff to more productive frontline jobs.

Atlassian co-founders Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar have pulled the trigger on an engineering restructurer.Co-founder Scott Farquhar and chief technology officer Rajeev Rajan will face staff in an “ask me anything” session on Friday morning, and are expected to reassure employees there will be no demotions or pay cuts during the restructure.
